Today Madonna confirmed the title of her forthcoming twelfth studio album to be M.D.N.A. The title, a contraction of her own name after omitting vowels, is also an obvious reference to the recreational drug MDMA. After making the revelation on The Graham Norton Show to promote her second directing effort W.E., within an hour her official Facebook page also gave confirmation.

The follow up to 2008′s Hard Candy is rumoured to be executive produced by William Orbit who previously oversaw her most critically acclaimed record, Ray of Light, in 1998, while several tracks have also been produced by Martin Solveig. The lead single, ‘Gimme All Your Luvin’, featuring M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj, will be released to radio on February 7th.

The Graham Norton Show with Madonna will air on Friday 13th.
