Cabaret performer Nigel Osner takes to classier heights as he performs his show at the famous Green Carnation in Soho for one night only. As well as having had a charming run at the Elixir Bar last year, he’s also won the gleeful approval of the Queer as Film audience with his short film The Revelation of Reverend Jones (shown below).
Osner’s style is very much that of Noël Coward; half prose, half song. He adds a fine poetic gloss to his performance, especially with his own numbers, and exudes a warm and cheeky panache. We particularly loved his rendition of ‘Another Show’ where he takes on the character of a fading and jaded performer in her twilight years.
His show, Love, DEATH, and Other Opportunities will take a look at the living and not so living through song and spoken word. He will be accompanied by Ian Winter, and joined by Michelle Dress – the other half of Winter’s Sonhos de Brazil duo.
This is a lovely opportunity to catch an original and entertaining cabaret artist at a Soho staple.
Love, DEATH and Other Opportunities will play at Green Carnation, London, W1D 4DD on 8 February 2012. Tickets are £5. For enquiries call 07816 814962.
