Leicester shows London the funny as Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival comes to town

logo

Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival has been a hot pot of comedy since it’s creation back in the 90s. This is the chance for new comedians to rub shoulders with established big names. For new material to be formed and the previous years shows to take its final run. It is also a brilliant opportunity for audiences to see comedians before they hit the big time, the likes of Graham Norton, Johnny Vegas, Sarah Millican, Michael Mcintyre, John Bishop…the list goes, on all cut their teeth at this very festival. Last year we interviewed stand-ups David Morgan and Zoe Lyons

But Leicester can seem awfully far away and sometimes being patient isn’t necessarily a virtue. Thankfully the wise people of Leicester know this and are bringing the circus to London for one night only.

The lineup reflects perfectly the ethos of Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival. If you think stand up comedy is just one man and a microphone, prepare to have your eyes opened. Arthur Smith will be guiding you through an eclectic mix of comedy joy, there will be musical comedy in the shape of Vikki Stone (trust us she is going to be huge this year), sketches by Dog Eared Collective and quizing, homosexual Paul Sinha, to name but a few. If comedy is your thang, this is a night not be missed.

Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival (London) Preview Show is on at Kings Place on 19 January. Tickets cost 12.50 and are available from the online box office or by calling 020 7520 1490. Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival runs from the 3 – 19 February.
