Andrew Pierce criticises Elton John’s fatherhood

Sir Elton John and David Furnish

Openly gay Daily Mail columnist Andrew Pierce has described Sir Elton John’s decision to become a father with his civil parter David Furnish as a ‘grotesque act of selfishness’. He has also questioned Sir Elton’s ability ‘to be there for his son’ while his much anticipated tour of the US and Europe is taking place.

Sir Elton, whose son Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John was born in California to a surrogate on Christmas day, has said he and his partner are ‘overwhelmed with happiness and joy’.

Andrew Pierce’s column can be read in full here.
