Stephen Fry splits from partner

Stephen Fry, the cuddly host of QI, has split from Daniel Cohen, his partner of 14 years, says the Daily Mail.

Fry was famously celibate and ill at ease with his sexuality before meeting Cohen.

it is believed Fry has agreed to give the proceeds from the sale of their Hampstead home to Cohen, and that both have signed a confidentiality agreement following the split.

It is believed his new partner is Steven Webb, a 26 year old actor who has previously worked with Fry on a Winnie the Pooh audio book, voicing Christopher Robbin alongside Fry’s Pooh.

Do we actually know if Stephen and Steven are together?

This kind of story concerns me. Firstly, they might not be a couple. Secondly, we dont know if young Steven is gay. And thirdly and most important, if Steven is gay do the journalists know if this story has outed him - potentially causing personal worries for him and family. Not all 26 year old gay men are out to their family.

While I'm sure the people I hang around with on a daily basis would be motified to be automatically assumed to be my partner(s!), it's safe to say that after a month of being called Stephens partner, by now he should either accept the fact it's out there and be comfortable with his family knowing, or tell the media they're wrong, no?
