One Night Stand film challenge

QUEER AS FILM in Association with LONDON PRIDE 2010 and STREET SCENES presents

THE ONE NIGHT STAND FILM CHALLENGE

For our 2010 Pride event we are setting you a challenge; make a short film over night! We will provide the location and the performers all you need to bring is whatever equipment you want to use and your creativity.

Here’s what’s happening:

STREET SCENES is a multi person street performance taking place over a 3 hour period on Saturday 26th June 2010 on Old Compton Street, Soho. The performances will be made up of an unlimited number of performance artists either performing alone or in groups; some may be reciting a play from start to finish, some may do some mime, some may sing – anything goes.

Our challenge to you is to film as much or as little of these performances as you want, then take the footage and do what you want with it: edit it, cut it to music or have it silent, add archive or specially shot footage. Whatever you do is perfectly fine and up to you but just as long as you deliver a short film that is no longer than 10 minutes in length on DVD to
The Crown and Two Chairmen Pub Dean Street by 6pm on Sunday 27th June 2010.

The entries will then be screened that evening as part of QUEER AS FILM event 3 and a winner will be announced on the night as voted for by the audience. The winner’s short will then appear on the official Pride website.

This year PRIDE are celebrating 40 years of the Gay Liberation Front and have a theme; PAINT THE TOWN RUBY RED. You can either follow that theme or use it as a stepping stone to your ideas.

Entry into the competition is free and you can take part individually or in groups, Your short can cover any genre from fiction, documentary, music video and experimental.
