Scissor Sissters frontman Jake Shears has contributed his words to the It Gets Better project.

Jake talks about coming out aged 15 years old, and how he thought it wouldn’t make a difference to how anyone acted towards him. Sadly, he was bullied, and realising the lack of support from teachers, he contemplated suicide. He tells how by staying strong he is now living the dream and is thankful to be in the position he is now, to act as a role model for gay youth.
